Serba Dinamik pushes ahead with tech expansion

KUCHING, October 13 (The Star) --

KUCHING: Serba Dinamik Bhd, which has launched its RM13mil D-Virtual Park in Kota Samarahan, has teamed up with several parties to drive IR 4.0 technology to the public.

Apart from being the first virtual reality (VR & AR) theme park in Borneo as well as a creative studio, D-Virtual Park houses facilities such as the D-Arena Esports hub and a platform for startups.

The platform for startups is connected to Serba Dinamik’s strategic labs in three countries – India Institute of Technology with 100 labs for research and development (R&D), partnership with Standford University AI Lab for research in artificial intelligence (AI) as well as its Shenzen lab in China.

At the launch of the D-Virtual Park by Sarawak Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg yesterday, Serba Dinamik inked four memorandums of understanding (MoU), including one with Sarawak Economic Development Corp (SEDC) and the Centre of Technical Excellence (Centexs) to strengthen Sarawak’s initiatives in the digital economy.

Serba Dinamik group managing director and CEO Datuk Abdul Karim Abdullah said the company’s collaborations with the parties involved were important as they not only open a new frontier for the company’s technology ventures but they also bring IR4.0 technology to a wider base.

“We want visitors to the D-Virtual Park to see what these technologies are capable of and how it can help in everyday life.

“This include reaching out to women and showing them what these technologies can do for them. “We hope to promote and empower them with these technologies which we believe are important tools for the digital age that we live in, ” he said.

Meanwhile, Serba Dinamik chairman Datuk Abdul Kadier Sahib said D-Virtual Park is part of the group’s breakthrough digital strategy for Sarawak. It was established with the concept of showcasing the finest of digital technology infrastructure, mainly focussing on the latest developments of virtual reality and digitalised entertainment. Abdul Kadier said the theme park, housed in nine blocks of a three-storey building, boasts a remarkable Esports arena and an innovation hub which aims to provide the foothold for rising entrepreneurs and startup ventures.
