KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 6): Serba Dinamik Holdings Bhd said today its wholly-owned subsidiary Serba Dinamik International Ltd (SDIL) had yesterday (Aug 5) accepted a letter of award from Future Digital Data Systems LLC (FDDS) to build a data centre for US$350 million (about RM1.47 billion).
In a statement to Bursa Malaysia today, Serba Dinamik said the project will be built at Mussaffah, Abu Dhabi.
“The project forms part of FDDS’s initiatives to develop (a) series of data centres across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, that will support the activities in Abu Dhabi and also provide services to the rest of the Gulf Corporation Council (GCC), to address the growing need in the market, due to the emergence of Cloud, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Internet of Things (IoT) and Big Data Analytics.
“FDDS intends to build a new data centre that can host mission critical systems and provide colocation services, business continuity and managed services facilities to local and international organisations,” Serba Dinamik said.
Serba Dinamik said the project’s work scope includes the appointment of specialist consultants and contractors to undertake the management, design, procurement, construction, and completion segments of the project.
“The award is conditional on finalisation and execution of contract documents and both parties agreeing to the effective date of the works as of Sept 1, 2020 (commencement date).
“The company shall complete the works within 1,460 days from the commencement date,” Serba Dinamik said.
At Bursa’s 12:30pm break today, Serba Dinamik’s share price settled up six sen or 3.66% at RM1.70 for a market value of about RM5.73 billion. The stock saw some 11 million shares traded.
